The Rat Diaries

A blog to show you that rats might just be…not so bad, after all.

About Fancy Rats June 27, 2012

I know what you’re thinking…rats? GROSS. But rats actually make great pets.
Rats were first introduced as pets around the 18th century, when rat baiting was a popular sport. Since then, “fancy rats”, as they’re commonly called, have become an increasingly popular pet to people around the world. They are kind, intelligent, clean, and, despite the stereotypes, actually carry less human-affecting diseases than dogs. If you are looking for a cute, sweet small pet, look no further than fancy rats.
